WORKSHOP SETUP

This is an air-conditioned classroom setup complete with LCD Projector, computer, whiteboard and Internet access (WiFi). The workshop is limited to 15 participants only. It is also highly appreciated if you can provide your own laptop during the course of our workshop but if not, coordinate properly with the organizing committee so we can provide you a computer.

TRAINING OUTLINE – PART 1 (DAY 1)
FEBRUARY 23, 2013 (SATURDAY)
  1. INTRODUCTION TO SEARCH ENGINE MARKETING
  2. Activities: Discussion about Internet Marketing, specifically focus on Search Engine Marketing (SEM) and Search Engine Optimization (SEO).
    Objectives: After this session we expect that the student will have the basic understanding on Search Engine Marketing (SEM) and especially with Search Engine Optimization (SEO).

  3. UNDERSTANDING SEO
  4. Activities: Discussions on the goals of SEO to help boost the business. Discuss the process of the whole SEO Cycle.
    Objectives: After this session we expect that student will have the understanding on the goals of SEO and how it is implemented.

  5. WEBSITE ANALYSIS
  6. Activities: This is an Onpage Optimization Hands-on Activity. The student will be given a certain website to evaluate and a Website Health Evaluation Checklist.
    Objectives: After this activity we expect that the student will now have the capabilities on conducting Website Health Evaluation which the first step in implementing SEO Campaign on a certain website.

  7. KEYWORD RESEARCH AND DISCOVERY
  8. Activities: Basing on the [B]Website Health Check Results[/B], the student will conduct Keyword Research to come up with profitable keywords.
    Objectives: We expect that the student will have now the capabilities on conducting Keyword Research.

  9. ONPAGE OPTIMIZATION
  10. Activities: Discuss the factors that should be taken care of when we conduct On-page Optimization such as Correct Meta Tagging, SEO Rules and other factors that will discussed on this session. Since the release of the [B]Google Panda[/B] and [B]Google Penguin updates[/B], many changes occurred in the industry. What we’ve knew before that works, is not working anymore, even what we thought that were White Hat, has now become a gray hat and subject for Google penalization.
    Objectives: After this session we expect that student will have the understanding on Onpage Optimization and will know the factors we should be taken care of and the objectives that should be met on implementing an Onpage Optimization. We also expect student to understand what’s Google Panda and Google Penguin is all about and how to deal with these updates.

  11. OFF PAGE OPTIMIZATION
  12. Activities: Discussion on the factors that should be taken care of when we implement an Offpage Optimization. Also the different Offpage Optimization will be discussed during this session.
    Objectives: We expect that after this session the student will have the understanding on different Offpage Optimization Activities and the SEO Objectives that are targeted in each activity.

  13. SITE TRAFFIC MONITORING
  14. Activities: We will give the students overview of the Google Analytics and what its importance.
    Objectives: We expect that the student will now have the basic knowledge in Google Analytics Monitoring Tool on the website and will have the understanding on the results from Google Analytics.

LEARNING OUTCOME (Day 1):

TAKE HOME ASSIGNMENT

The students will be given a particular website and will conduct the following activities:

a. Website Analysis
b. Keyword Research – At least 5 Profitable Keywords
c. Conduct OnPage Audit and Recommendations

This assignment should be submitted 2 days before the scheduled DAY 2 (March 9, 2013) of the SEO Training.

Before the start of the activities on the SEO Training DAY-2, feedbacks for the take home assignments will be distributed to the students. It will also be used as a reference on the Final Qualifying Activity (Day 2) which each student should be able to complete and passed in order for them to receive the Certificate of Completion.
